A polished website, a local project photograph or a listing here is not a substitute for your own checks. This directory verifies website evidence for the listing, not the quality, financial position, licence or suitability of the provider.

Match the identity

Ask who will contract with you and make sure that identity matches the quote, contract and relevant licence details. Check the current licence status, work categories and any conditions using NSW Government guidance. The person who first meets you may not be the entity responsible for delivering the work.

Check the cover for your job

Ask what insurance is required and request the appropriate evidence. Where Home Building Compensation cover applies, verify the project-specific cover through the official register before paying or work starting. It is not the same thing as a general public liability policy.

Ask for relevant evidence

Discuss comparable projects, the team who would actually work on your job, supervision and how issues are handled. Ask permission to speak with recent clients. Look for experience relevant to your scope rather than relying on a claim that a business does “everything”.

Protect the decision

Keep the signed scope, drawings, selection schedules, approvals and correspondence in one place. Read the current NSW consumer guidance and get independent advice when necessary. Statutory rights and consumer guarantees are not removed by a directory disclaimer.

No listing is a promise of availability, pricing, registration or performance. Confirm those facts directly and independently before you commit.
